Whipton Barton

Whipton Barton, once an estate farm east of Exeter, has a rich history tied to the Poltimore Estate and the Rewe family, who were tenants for over 300 years. The farm hosted the Royal Agricultural Society's show in 1850 and was a key site for agricultural exhibitions, including the Bath and West Show and the Daily Mail Circuit of Britain air race in 1911. Although the original manor house was demolished in 1963, the area has evolved, with the establishment of Whipton Barton School and the recent development of affordable homes. Today, the legacy of Whipton Barton lives on in the community and its historical significance.
