Trautman Building

The Trautman Building, once a prominent five-story commercial structure in Columbus, Ohio, was completed in 1893 and served various purposes until its demolition in 2014. Originally known as the Comstock Building, it replaced the Metropolitan Opera House, which was destroyed by fire in 1892. The building was owned by the Trautman family for over six decades and featured a notable mural by local artist Sara Carr. Despite efforts to preserve it, the building was ultimately demolished to make way for a modern apartment complex, reflecting the ongoing evolution of downtown Columbus.
