Whaley House (Old Town)

The Whaley House, located in Old Town San Diego, was constructed by Thomas Whaley in 1856–1857 and served as a family home as well as commercial and civic functions, including a general store and a theater. The building is preserved and operated as a house museum that interprets mid-19th-century domestic and commercial life in San Diego. The house is a prominent historic landmark within the Old Town neighborhood.
