Bowne House

The Bowne House in Flushing dates to the 17th century and is associated with John Bowne, who in 1662 successfully petitioned for religious tolerance for Quakers in the Dutch colony of New Netherland. The house operates as a museum interpreting colonial-era life and the early struggle for religious freedom in what became New York.
