Cinema Rialto

Cinema Rialto, built in 1929 in Casablanca, Morocco, is one of the oldest cinemas in the country and a prime example of Art Deco architecture. Designed by French architect Pierre Jabin, it originally seated 1,350 spectators and has hosted numerous international film premieres and performances by renowned artists like Édith Piaf and Josephine Baker. Although the rise of home entertainment diminished its prominence, Cinema Rialto remains a cultural landmark, attracting tourists with its historical significance and architectural beauty. The cinema was operated by the Bouchentouf family until its closure in 2019.
