Hays-Gerrard House

The Hays-Gerrard House, built around 1743 in Gerrardstown, West Virginia, is a notable historic site featuring a two-story limestone structure with a steeply pitched gable roof. This house not only served as a residence for Rev. John Gerrard, the first Baptist minister west of the Blue Ridge Mountains, but also hosted the area's first Baptist church. Restored in the 1970s, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and is part of the Gerrardstown Historic District, recognized in 1991, making it a significant destination for tourists and researchers interested in early American history.
