Conjurer's Lodge

Conjurer's Lodge is a historic building located in Chiswell, on the Isle of Portland, Dorset, England. Originally established in 1816 as a Methodist chapel, it served the local community for a decade before the society reunited in 1826. The lodge is notable for its unique history, having been associated with local beliefs in witchcraft, which led to the expulsion of 50 members from the Methodist society. It is now a Grade II Listed building, recognized as a rare surviving example of its kind on the island. After its time as a chapel, the building was repurposed as a workshop by Portland Joinery from 1973 to 2003, making it an interesting site for both tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
