The Institut océanographique de Paris, founded in 1906 by Albert I, Prince of Monaco, is a prominent oceanographic institution located in the heart of Paris. Renowned for its Italian Renaissance architectural style, the institute features two amphitheatres, three specialized laboratories, and a library dedicated to oceanographic research. Designated as a Monument historique in 2004, it serves as a hub for oceanography education and research, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers alike. The institute was renamed Maison de l'Océan in 2011 to commemorate its centenary.
