Old United States Mint (The Granite Lady)

The Old United States Mint in San Francisco, commonly called the Old Mint or 'The Granite Lady,' was completed in 1874 and is noted for surviving the 1906 earthquake and fire. The building is a National Historic Landmark and represents 19th-century federal architecture and the city’s financial history during the Gold Rush era. It has been the subject of preservation and adaptive reuse discussions and occasional public tours and exhibitions.
