Bride's Hill

Bride's Hill, also known as Sunnybrook, is a historic plantation house located near Wheeler, Alabama. This significant example of a Tidewater-type cottage was built by a member of the Dandridge family, relatives of Martha Washington. The house features a unique architectural style with a broad central hall and prominent end chimneys, reflecting the colonial Virginia influence. Added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage in 1985 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, Bride's Hill has been unoccupied since the 1980s and is currently in disrepair, making it a fascinating site for tourists and researchers interested in early Alabama architecture and history.
