Julius Lansburgh Furniture Co., Inc.

The Julius Lansburgh Furniture Co., Inc., also known as the Old Masonic Temple, is a historic building located at 901 F Street, Northwest in Washington, D.C.'s Penn Quarter. Designed in the French Renaissance Revival style by architects Adolf Cluss and Joseph Wildrich von Kammerhueber, construction began in 1867 and was completed in 1870. Originally serving as a Masonic temple, it later became a furniture store after being purchased by Julius Lansburgh in 1921. The building is notable for its grand ballroom and was painted white in 1922. After closing in 1970, it was preserved as a historic site and underwent a significant renovation in 2000. Today, it houses the headquarters of the Gallup Organization, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers interested in architectural history and preservation.
