Renwick Gallery - 19th-Century Decorative Arts Landmark

The Renwick Gallery, located near the White House, occupies a Victorian-era building designed by James Renwick Jr. and completed in 1859; the building is a National Historic Landmark. Since the mid-20th century the Renwick has served as a museum devoted to American craft and decorative arts, and it underwent a major restoration and reinstallation that reopened in 2015. The gallery is part of the Smithsonian American Art Museum and presents rotating exhibitions of contemporary craft, design, and decorative art.
