Morris–Jumel Mansion - George Washington's Headquarters

Morris–Jumel Mansion in Washington Heights was used as General George Washington's temporary headquarters in September 1776 during the Revolutionary War. Built in 1765, the house later became the residence of Eliza Jumel, who married Aaron Burr in 1833, linking the site to multiple notable historical figures. The mansion is preserved as New York City's oldest surviving house and operates as a museum interpreting its colonial and early republic history.
