Texas State Capitol is state property with separate security

The Texas State Capitol and its grounds at 1100 Congress Ave are owned and managed by the State of Texas; law enforcement and security are provided by state agencies such as the Texas Capitol Police and Texas Department of Public Safety. City of Austin ordinances and municipal enforcement powers are limited on state property, and permits for events on the Capitol grounds are issued by state authorities.
