Montero Palace

The Montero Palace, located in the Centro neighborhood of Montevideo, Uruguay, is an eclectic-historicist building constructed in the 1920s. Known for its historic significance, it housed the famous Sorocabana Café for fifty years, becoming a cultural hub for intellectuals and politicians. Designed by architect Alberto Trigo, the building reflects the architectural styles of the Belle Époque, featuring a mix of residential and commercial spaces. Today, it is a designated heritage site, with various establishments on the ground floor, including a bar-restaurant and an ice cream parlor, making it a vibrant spot for visitors.
