Cathedral of the Holy Cross (Gothic Revival)

The Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston's South End was designed by Patrick C. Keely and its construction was completed and consecrated in 1875. It is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston and is widely cited as the largest Catholic church in New England. The building is executed in a Gothic Revival idiom with pointed arches, buttresses, and a cruciform plan reflecting 19th-century ecclesiastical design.
