Domino Sugar Refinery (derelict industrial complex)

The Domino Sugar Refinery complex in Williamsburg/Greenpoint was a large industrial sugar-processing site whose warehouse, refinery buildings, and sugar silos stood largely unused and visibly decaying for decades. Its brick and concrete structures, including iconic silo towers, became a prominent example of abandoned industrial architecture along the East River waterfront. Large portions of the complex were vacant prior to a major redevelopment project that began in the 2010s, which has since altered and reused parts of the site while leaving remnants of the older industrial fabric apparent for years.
