Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign

Designed by graphic artist Betty Willis and erected in 1959, the 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' sign stands on the median at the south end of the Strip and is a widely photographed Las Vegas landmark. The sign was installed to greet motorists arriving from the south and has become an iconic symbol used in tourism and media. A small visitor area with parking was later added on the east side to accommodate photographers.
