Hezekiah Alexander House (Alexander Rock House)

The Hezekiah Alexander House, built about 1774, is the oldest surviving domestic dwelling in Mecklenburg County and a rare example of an 18th-century vernacular Germanic farmhouse in the region. The brick house was erected by Hezekiah Alexander, a prominent local farmer and Quaker, and retains original masonry and fireplace features. It is preserved as a historic house museum interpreting colonial and Revolutionary-era life in the Charlotte area.
