Intendenturförrådet

Intendenturförrådet, or the Commissariat Warehouse, is a historic building located on Skeppsholmen in central Stockholm, Sweden. Designed by architect Johan Eberhard Carlberg and completed in 1731, this unique structure served as a storage facility for the Crown's tax goods, including grains. It has a plain exterior that contrasts with the nearby Grand-Baroque Stockholm Palace and is notable for being the only historical building on Skeppsholmen not used by the Navy. The warehouse remains largely unaltered since its construction and is the last major work of Carlberg. Although it was considered for a new Design Museum in 2006, plans for this have not progressed. The Intendenturförrådet offers a glimpse into Stockholm's architectural history and its role in the military logistics of the past.
