Atlas Building, Lima

The Atlas Building, located in the historic center of Lima, Peru, is an architectural gem designed by Walter Weberhofer and José Álvarez Calderón. Completed in 1955, this striking structure features a glass and aluminum façade and stands eleven stories tall. Originally built for the Atlas Insurance Company, it includes commercial spaces, a leisure area with a rooftop cafeteria, and parking for 70 cars. The building was recognized with the Gold Medal for Best Building of 1955 by the Municipality of Lima. Today, its architectural perspectives are part of the Museum of Modern Art's collection in New York, highlighting its significance in Latin American architecture.
