C. Brewer Building

The C. Brewer Building, located at 827 Fort Street in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, is a historic site built in 1930 as the headquarters for C. Brewer & Co., one of Hawaiʻi's Big Five corporations. Designed in a Mediterranean Revival style by Bertram Goodhue and completed by Hardie Phillip, the building features unique architectural elements such as a tiled 'Dickey roof', wrought iron railings symbolizing sugar cane, and light fixtures resembling sugar cubes. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. After the company shifted its focus from sugar to other agricultural products and moved its operations to Hilo in 1998, the building now serves as the headquarters for the Hawaii Community Foundation since 2010, making it a notable stop for tourists and researchers interested in Hawaii's agricultural history and architectural heritage.
