Jussieu Campus

The Jussieu Campus, located in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, is the main campus of the Sorbonne Faculty of Science and Engineering. Opened in 1951 on the site of a former wine market, it features a unique architectural design with a grid of six-floor wings elevated above ground level, allowing for outdoor movement across the campus. The central skyscraper, Tour Zamansky, houses administrative offices and offers panoramic views. Despite its innovative design, the campus has faced criticism for its environmental conditions and past asbestos use, leading to extensive renovations completed in 2016. The campus is well-connected by the Paris Métro and bus lines, making it accessible for visitors and researchers alike.
