Old National Centre (Murat Theatre and Egyptian Room)

The building now called Old National Centre was constructed as the Murat Shrine Temple and Murat Theatre in 1909–1910 and includes the ornate Egyptian Room ballroom. The complex hosted vaudeville and touring musical acts throughout the 20th century and was later restored and repurposed as a downtown concert and performance venue. It remains one of Indianapolis's long-standing sites for large-scale live music events.
