Globecom Tower

Globecom Tower, standing at 378.25 meters (1,240.98 feet), was a remarkable guyed mast located at the Pituffik Space Base in Greenland, completed in 1954. Once the tallest man-made structure outside the United States, it served military communications by transmitting telex messages to Canada. Its unique triangular design and construction on permanently frozen ground posed significant challenges. The tower was decommissioned and demolished in 1992, but its historical significance and engineering marvel continue to intrigue tourists and researchers alike.
