Admiral Beatty Hotel

The Admiral Beatty Hotel, now known as the Rotary Admiral Beatty Complex, is a historic building located in King's Square, Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Opened in 1925 and designed by the architectural firm Ross and Macdonald, this Neoclassic structure originally featured eight stories and 250 rooms, making it the largest hotel in the Maritimes at the time. The hotel hosted numerous events, including conventions and dances, and was notable for its lavish amenities. However, it faced challenges in the 1970s and ultimately closed in 1982. After a successful fundraising effort, the building was transformed into a senior citizen apartment complex in 1986. Visitors to Saint John can appreciate the hotel's rich history and architectural significance, as well as its role in the community's social fabric.
