Smith Tower observation deck and historic skyscraper

Smith Tower was completed in 1914 and was one of the earliest skyscrapers on the U.S. West Coast; it held the title of the tallest building in Seattle for many years after opening. The building features a restored early-20th-century lobby and a public observation deck with the historic "Chinese Room" that preserves period decor. Smith Tower now houses exhibits, offices, and a bar/restaurant while remaining a landmark in the Pioneer Square historic district. The tower is frequently cited in accounts of Seattle's early 20th-century development.
