Freer Gallery of Art - home of Whistler’s Peacock Room

The Freer Gallery of Art, operated by the Smithsonian Institution at 1050 Independence Ave SW, houses a major collection of Asian art alongside American art from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The gallery’s holdings include James McNeill Whistler’s famed Peacock Room, which is displayed as part of the Freer’s permanent collection.
