Old Lock Pump House, Chesapeake & Delaware Canal

It played a crucial role in the operation of the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal, which facilitated navigation between Chesapeake Bay and Delaware Bay by using locks and pumps to transport vessels over the Delmarva Peninsula.
