Hueco Tanks State Historic Site - pictographs and bouldering

Hueco Tanks State Historic Site preserves a granite outcrop with numerous prehistoric pictographs and cultural sites significant to Indigenous peoples. The area is internationally known as a premier bouldering (rock climbing) destination, with established access rules and climber registrations to protect resources. The site is managed by Texas Parks and Wildlife and requires permits or guided tours for certain sensitive areas.
