Kanō Castle

Kanō Castle, located in Gifu, Japan, is a historic hirajirō-style castle that played a significant role during the Edo period as the administrative center of Kanō Domain. Originally constructed in 1445, it was rebuilt after the Battle of Sekigahara in 1603 and served as a template for other 'Kanō-type castles.' Today, only its ruins, including stone walls and moat remnants, remain, designated as a National Historic Site in 1983. The site, now a park, is a short walk from Gifu Station, making it an accessible destination for tourists and researchers interested in Japan's feudal history.
