Elwood Bar

The Elwood Bar, a historic establishment in Detroit, Michigan, was built in 1936 and showcases the Art Moderne architectural style designed by Charles Noble. Located at 300 East Adams Street, it features a distinctive cylindrical tower and vibrant enameled steel facades. Originally constructed as an investment for the John R. Williams Estate, the bar has a rich history, having changed ownership several times and undergone renovations, including a significant move in 1997 to avoid demolition due to the construction of Comerica Park. Today, it serves as a popular bar and grill, attracting visitors attending nearby sporting events, and has made appearances in popular culture, including a cameo in the sitcom Modern Family.
