Woodlawn (Smyrna, Delaware)

Woodlawn, also known as the Thomas England House, was a historic mansion near Smyrna, Delaware, originally built in 1741. Known as Morris Rambles at its inception, it underwent significant renovations in 1853 when it was renamed Woodlawn. This Greek Revival-style home featured a striking pedimented portico with Doric columns and a unique kitchen wing. Despite its historical significance and being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, Woodlawn was demolished in 2017, highlighting the challenges of preserving historic sites.
