Malatestiana Library

The Malatestiana Library in Cesena, Italy, is a historic public library, recognized as the first civic library in Europe, established between 1447 and 1452. Commissioned by Malatesta Novello, it features a stunning early Renaissance design by architect Matteo Nuti, with a basilica-like layout and intricate wooden furnishings. The library houses a unique collection of manuscripts, including Greek texts and illuminated law books, and has preserved its original structure for over 550 years. In 2005, it was inscribed in UNESCO's Memory of the World Register, making it a significant cultural destination for tourists and researchers alike.
