Phillips Mansion

The Phillips Mansion, a stunning example of Second Empire architecture, is a historic house located in Pomona, California, built in 1875 by Louis Phillips, a prominent figure who became the wealthiest man in Los Angeles County by the 1890s. This mansion served as a vital community hub along the Butterfield Stage route and was recognized for its architectural significance, being one of the first homes in the area to feature fired bricks and gas lighting. The mansion is not only the oldest surviving house in the Pomona Valley but also one of the ten most stately mansions in Southern California.
