Levine Museum of the New South

The Levine Museum of the New South is a history museum in Uptown Charlotte devoted to post–Civil War Southern history, focusing on Reconstruction, industrialization, urban growth, and the civil rights movement. Its permanent and changing exhibitions use artifacts, oral histories, and documents to interpret the economic and social transformations that shaped modern Charlotte and the New South. The museum also hosts educational programs and community dialogues on regional history and contemporary issues.
