Terry Homestead

The Bristol Fletcher Terry Homestead, built in 1748, was a significant historical building in Bristol, Connecticut, showcasing early American architecture and family lineage. Originally constructed by William Barnes, it changed hands multiple times, serving various roles, including a temporary schoolhouse. The house featured a unique post and beam structure with original elements like a six bay bread oven fireplace and rare doors made from Kings wood, which were illegal at the time. Despite attempts at restoration, the homestead was ultimately deemed too damaged and was demolished in 2013, marking the end of a rich historical legacy.
