Fort Caroline National Memorial (reconstructed fort and visitor center)

Fort Caroline National Memorial commemorates the 1564 French Huguenot colonial settlement and is part of the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve. The site includes a visitor center with interpretive exhibits and a reconstructed section of the fort's palisade to illustrate the 16th-century settlement. The memorial and surrounding parkland are located near the mouth of the St. Johns River on Fort Caroline Road in northeast Jacksonville.
