Brehe Farmstead Historic District

The Brehe Farmstead Historic District, also known as the Fairview Stock Farm, is a captivating historic site located in Washington, Missouri. Established around 1869, the district features a charming two-story brick farmhouse and several other significant structures, including a brick smokehouse/dwelling from circa 1865, a poultry house from the 1940s, a granary built in the 1920s, and a Quonset barn from around 1945. Visitors can also explore a small milk house from the 1930s and a large gambrel-roofed bank barn with a distinctive round ceramic block silo, all of which reflect the agricultural heritage of the region. The district was recognized for its historical importance and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers interested in Missouri's rural history.
