Linenhall, Dublin

The Linenhall, a historic market hall and barracks in North Dublin, was integral to the linen and cloth trade in the 18th century. Established in 1728, it featured a grand trading space and storage for linen merchants. The complex later served as a British Army barracks and played a role in the 1916 Easter Rising, leading to its destruction. Today, the area retains its historical significance with streets named after the linen industry, and remnants of the original complex can be found at the Technological University Dublin.
