Archaeological mitigation during Music City Center construction

Before and during construction of the Music City Center in downtown Nashville, archaeological assessments and mitigation excavations recovered early-19th- and 19th-century domestic and commercial artifact deposits and structural remains. These investigations documented aspects of downtown Nashville's historic development and led to artifact curation and site reports used by local agencies. The work was undertaken as part of federally required cultural resource compliance for the construction project.
