The Peabody

The Peabody is a historic apartment building located at 195-197 Ashmont Street in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Designed by architect Edwin J. Lewis Jr. and constructed between 1896 and 1897, this 3+1⁄2-story Tudor Revival brick building is named after its original owners, Oliver and Mary Lothrop Peabody, who played a significant role in the area's development. The building complements the nearby All Saints' Church and was financially supported by the Peabodys. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001, making it a noteworthy site for tourists and researchers interested in Boston's architectural history.
