Craik-Patton House

The Craik-Patton House is a historic home and public museum located in Charleston, West Virginia, built in 1834 in the Greek Revival style. Originally named 'Elm Grove,' it was moved to its current site in 1973 to prevent demolition. The house features impressive architecture with four massive columns and is preserved by the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. It honors Rev. James Craik, grandson of George Washington's physician, and Col. George S. Patton, who lived there in the 19th century. The museum showcases artifacts from prominent families of the Kanawha River Valley and highlights the region's local history. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and is open for tours year-round.
