Wings Over the Rockies / Lowry Air Force Base hangars

Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum is housed in hangars on the former Lowry Air Force Base, which was established in 1938. Lowry served as a major Army Air Forces and later U.S. Air Force technical training center for aircraft maintenance, armament, and bombardier training through much of the 20th century. The museum preserves aircraft, flight systems, and avionics from those eras and occupies original base structures that illustrate mid-20th-century aviation technology and training.
