17 Lincoln Street, also known as 226 East Bryan Street, is a historic bar located in Savannah, Georgia, operating since 1852, making it one of the city's oldest continuously running bars. Currently home to Abe's on Lincoln, the bar features a unique tradition where patrons create sketches of Abraham Lincoln on napkins, which are displayed on the walls and ceiling. This quirky practice began when a customer unable to pay for drinks drew a portrait of Lincoln, leading to a creative trend among visitors. The bar is part of a significant building that has been recognized for its historical value, and it is owned by the Gaslight Group, which manages several other local establishments. In 2019, there were plans to relocate the building for hotel construction, but it remains a beloved spot for both tourists and locals.
