Anchor Brewing Company (Potrero Hill brewery)

Anchor Brewing Company operated a brewery at 1705 Mariposa Street in the Potrero Hill neighborhood and is widely associated with the revival of craft brewing in San Francisco. The company traces its corporate origins to the late 19th century and was revived and popularized under Fritz Maytag beginning in the 1960s. The Potrero Hill brewery site offered public tours and a tasting room for many years and became a local landmark of artisanal beer production.
