Colerain Forges Mansion

The Colerain Forges Mansion, located in Franklin Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, is a historic home that showcases architectural evolution from the late-18th century to the late-19th century. This two-story, five-bay T-shaped dwelling features a Federal style with a full-length porch. Its construction spans several decades, with the oldest section dating back to the mid-18th century, complemented by later additions in the 1830s, 1840s, and 1860s-1870s. The property also includes a stone outbuilding and a small shed. Once the residence of the ironmaster at Colerain Forge, the mansion was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990 and is now managed by the Colerain Center for Education, Preservation, and the Arts, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
