Rosa Spier Huis

The Rosa Spier Huis, established in 1963 in Laren, Netherlands, is a unique retirement home designed for artists, founded by harpist Rosa Spier. It offers 73 apartments, some with studios, and features communal spaces like a library and a theater, all set within a garden designed by Mien Ruys. The home has been a sanctuary for notable Dutch artists such as Maurits Cornelis Escher and Marianna Franken, allowing them to continue their artistic contributions in their later years. In 2010, it was announced that the home would relocate to Hector Treublaan, still in Laren, enhancing its mission to support artists in a vibrant community.
