White Building (Warsaw)

The White Building, located at 6 Twarda Street in North Downtown Warsaw, is a historic three-storey structure dating back to before 1869. It serves as the office for the Union of Jewish Religious Communities in Poland and is notable for its role during World War II as a polyclinic and registry center for Holocaust survivors. The building features protected cultural property, including wall inscriptions in Yiddish and Hebrew. In 2021, it was designated as a protected cultural property, preventing plans for a new office skyscraper on its site. It stands as a significant remnant of the area's Jewish heritage, alongside the nearby Nożyk Synagogue.
