Summer Villa and McKay–Salmon House

The Summer Villa and McKay–Salmon House is a historic plantation complex located near Lillington, North Carolina, featuring seven contributing buildings. Summer Villa, built around 1849, showcases Greek Revival architecture with later Classical Revival updates, including a grand portico and wraparound porch. The site also includes several outbuildings, such as a carriage house and a corn crib. The McKay–Salmon House, constructed in the late 19th century, is a charming one-story cottage. This historic district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, making it a significant site for tourists and researchers interested in American architectural history and rural life.
